Off Limits, as a search industry term, is worth time to understand. It
is comprised of two facets:
- A direct relationship exits between the number of restrictions
(and thus, the size of the potential candidate pool) with which the
search firm must contend, and, the number of Clients served by a search
firm. This is because a search firm extends, to each of their Clients,
some form of Off Limits guarantees.
- Off Limits is an Executive Search firms pledge not to solicit
any of your employees for other client assignments, unless so authorized
in a written agreement. This pledge is a guarantee for a given time
period. It can be provided globally, geographically, by industry, and
so on.
For example, Off Limits policy is two years,
globally. This means that for two years following the conclusion of
our last assignment with a client firm, we will not solicit any of
our clients employees, globally, for a position in another firm.
Under no circumstances will we solicit a successful candidate to move
from one client to another for the lifetime of that candidates
employment by the original client.
We extend this guarantee of professionalism with enthusiasm, since
our end goal is to help our client succeed, not to add vacancy challenges.
